ERASURE This series explores the deadly impact on Canadian wildlife of loss of habitat through urbanization. The World Wildlife Fund's Living Planet Report 2018 showed a 60% decline in populations of vertebrate species worldwide between 1970 and 2014. Despite a 'national consciousness' in Canada that rests on a concept of wilderness, half of Canadian wildlife species are in serious population decline and a key factor is habitat modification, fragmentation and destruction.
